I got that error when I tried to use "Bloodsucking" in the name of my pvp Necro

pretty lame when you cant use Bloodsucking on a dang necro

When I tried naming my war W A S G D (we are so gonna die) after my mantra for pugging places like UW it wouldn't let me. Had to change it to W A S Gd before they let me use it.

Though I think that is probably just something that may be banned from being used in names for some reason. Because my PvP character is okay and he has 1 G in it.

Well blame the world that's full of prudes and pansies that are offended and afraid of words.

It's not Anet's fault as much as they have to appeal to a wide player base and unfortunately most of that player base are the types of people above.

The official response on this issue was: to prevent people from naming a character "G M Something" and pretending to be a real GM.
This doesn't make sense...
They should forbid the whole "G M" not a single "G" (just as the "Gm" together are.). It's is very important for me for a certain reason.

And real GM's have names "Gm Xxxxx" or "Admin Xxxx" or often without any special word. (the Admin word is also not accepted)

GMs in Guild Wars only have a standard character name. The ONLY thing that differentiates them, visually, is the fact that there is a BIG GM sign above their character (and that's only if they turn it on IIRC).

But if you come from another game, you might not know that, therefore this will prevent abuse.

My point is that a single "G" can't be offensive or used in any malicious intent, like for example "G M" could be. Thus there's no reason to forbidding that single letter from character or guild's name or even your PET's name!
If they can disallow various combinations of the F word and spaces, like "F U * *" without disallowing the single letter "F" they should be able to do the same with "G" and "G M"

And the "Gm Xxxxx" or "Admin Xxxx" names are/were used by gms in GW, I've seen some.

I think it could be more to do with the very offensive N word. The lone G can be utilised to spell out that word, and that would be very offensive to - I would hope - most people. Swearing by using the F U, ect, isn't as offensive, it's just plain rude, though I can't say swearing particularly irritates me.

I think Anet have it right. I don't want to see offensive words about race being easily used in names on a game that's meant to be played for fun, and not used to bash or degrade. If that's too 'PC' for ya or makes me a prude, or 'afraid of words' then so be it, I'm happy to be that way than not find nasty words about race offensive

Find a better name for your character. Spaces look stupid anyways

Gaile said in another post that the lone G was made unavailable due to people being able to call themselves G M and pretending to be a Game Moderator and such and gain benefit within the game from other players. The word Guild is also not allowed.
